Initially you will be assessed for current conditions, recent and historical factors that you seek relief from. You will then get comfortable on the table or chair, covered as needed, and I will begin to check response of troubled areas and neighbouring tissue then balance of right and left sides. The neck and shoulders are generally the starting point for whole body massage, continuing down the back and legs per your comfort level and afflictions.
For Corporate Massage, I will come to your place of business with my portable table and/or chair to set-up where you like (an unused office works well). Your staff will be revitalised during the allotted time period to resume productive work with less stress. I also routinely do five minute Corporate Massage on staff at their desks, often while continuing work. This works better for large companies with more than 50 staff. Karma Harmony offers different types of massage:
Remedial - Removing the aches and pains of everyday stress, sport related injuries and over exertion utilising a firmer technique where needed. A variety of techniques will be applied to relieve your muscular issues from finger tips, whole hands to forearms and elbows.
Relaxation - Relief from stress and emotional trauma with light pressure applying remedial techniques where desired. Often focused more on head, neck and shoulders but can be applied to upper and lower body.
Healing Tactile Touch - I will discuss with you the type of touch and pressure you desire in your session. Not everyone likes “massage” but still enjoy a variety of techniques involving touch and sensory stimulation activation.
My techniques influenced by:
Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Bowen Technique, Kneading, Compression, and Cross-Fibre massage.
Basically I apply several techniques, depending on initial consultation and contact, increasing depth while tuning into your reaction and body's feedback until the affected area relaxes. Neighbouring areas are brought into alignment and balanced throughout your body.
Why we need massage:
The mind is capable of wondrous activity when it is relaxed. Daily we overload our brain with stimuli causing this special muscle to become strained and tired. Someone who is tuned in to their breathing can help bring relief to themselves. Others can find relief from a relaxing body and/or scalp massage. I’m here to help on either front being an active yoga and meditation practitioner in addition to being a certified massage therapist.
The body is capable of coping with certain amounts of strain but when we reach our limit we start to experience discomfort. The body will begin to contort and become disfigured while trying to cope; it will try to repair itself by sending nutrients to the affected muscles. Athletes know too well the effects of lactic acid build up causing stiff, sore muscles. Massage is one of the quickest ways to stop and reverse these issues.
Unfortunately most people experience a soul-wrenching event at some point in their lives. These issues can be harboured for years without being tended to. There are many ways to sort through this level of pain. A relaxing massage is a good place to start your healing process to give you the strength to bring inner peace resulting in balance within.
Most people will generally only need a one hour massage for most issues. Follow up sessions are at your preference. Hopefully the situation that caused the issue will also be removed from your life and you will continue happily on your path in life.
